• in the fundamentals of the faith - the sovereignty of God (Eph. 1:9-12), the deity of Jesus (Col. 2:9), the authority of the Bible (I Tim. 3:15, 16) - but we do not call ourselves Fundamentalists.

• in the evangelistic command of Jesus (Mt. 28:19, 20), but we do not call ourselves Evangelicals.

• in the centuries-old, worldwide scope of the church (Mk. 16:15) - i.e., in its catholicity - but we do not call ourselves Catholics.

• in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirlt that began on the day of Pentecost (Acts2:1-4}, but we do not call ourselves Pentecostals.

• in baptism, as commanded by Jesus (Mk.16:16), practiced by the Apostles (Acts 2:38-41) and expressed in the New Testament (Rom. 6:3,4) as being the immersion of a repentant believer, but we do not call ourselves Baptists.

• that God has used many men, such as Martin Luther, John Wesley, Alexander Campbell, et al to reform, revive and restore the church, but we do not call ourselves Lutherans, Wesleyans, Campbellites, etc.

• that since the New Testament says that there is one name above every name (Eph. 1:21), that there is no other name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and one name before which every knee will bow (Phil. 2:10), - Jesus Christ - it is fitting that those who have believed on (Jn.1:12), called upon (I Cor. 1:2), and have been baptized in His name (Gal. 3:27), be identified simply by the name Christian (Acts 11 :26).
We Believe:
Our Vision
Come
Through prayer we have earnestly sought the counsel, will, and help of the Lord Jesus Christ to reveal the vision He has for Southwest Christian Church. When we think of what that might be and look out into the coming years by 2020,

We envision a church KNOWN in our community for:
In other words, we envision SOUTHWEST to be THE church that the community has chosen as their FAMILY.
Reaching individuals and SHARING the love of Christ
