Our Missions Ministry

Article Pic

"Go … and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."  -- Matthew 28:19

"…and you shall be my witnesses to Me … to the end of the earth."  -- Acts 1:8

The Missions Ministry of Southwest Christian Church is the instrument of this local body that promotes evangelism and the good news of God's saving grace throughout the world, whether locally, nationally, or internationally.

Our primary method of accomplishing this is through education, both within our church and via support of Christian educational institutions and missionaries, who not only share the good news themselves, but also prepare others to evangelize and minister.

Our Missions Objectives

Our objectives for our missions ministry are:

1. To build a strong Missions Team by increasing church-wide involvement.
2. To create a positive missions image and develop awareness of missions in the church family.
3. To begin planning for a short-term mission trip.

From one of our missionaries

From Dustin Mullenix:

Our family spent May 14 - June 15 in Colorado for language and cross-cultural training.  We learned a lot about how to acquire another language. For us that will be Ukraninan.  We also learned a lot about skillfully entering into another culture in ways that minimize hindrances to the gospel message.  We are spending June25-July 2 driving from Dallas to Karliyn's hometown in New Jersey, visiting several friends along the way.  On July 15 we fly from New York City to Kiev, and then from Kiev to our home city of Lviv in western Ukraine.  We will spend our first year in Lviv focusing primarily on language learning.  Our goal is to find a church in Lviv that we can partner with to minister to college students, of whom there are about 85,000 in the city.  We would especially appreciate prayer for our adjustment to living in Ukraine and for a church with which we can partner.
